DASH Coverage
While our goal is to have full coverage of the entire PDB, there is unfortunately a small percentage of PDB chains which are not supported by our pipeline. Consult the list below to check if the chain/domain you are looking for falls into one of the categories.
Development on DASH is still continuing with the goal of dramatically reducing these limitations over time through improvements to ASH and improvements to the overall pipeline.
If your chain does not fall into one of the categories or you would like more information please contact us.
Common Reasons for Missing Data
-
Chains which only exist as sequences and no structure file is available are not supported.
-
Chains with >=3,205 residues are unable to be assigned by PDP, and PDP also does not return valid output in a small number of cases.
-
Chains with <11 residues cannot be clustered with CD-HIT.
-
Chains which are primarily CA-only (>90% of atoms) are unable to be aligned by ASH.
-
Chains which contain no usable secondary structure (according to ASH) are not supported.
-
Some chains contain problems in either their sequence or structural data which prevent the precise mapping required for the DASH process.
-
DASH is updated regularly along with the PDB, but updates may be delayed if problems with the existing data are found or problems with the update process occur. In these cases, very new chains may not be available in DASH yet.
